The country we call India

Heartiest congratulations to Mr Rahul Gandhi on being elevated to the party VP. Well, not that it’s a surprise! In my view, god forbid, he won the 2014 election; he would just be another mute spectator while the country goes further down just like our present PM.

He is being projected as the face of the congress in the upcoming elections. He aspires to be the PM of our country, do we even know his credentials other than the fact that he is the natural heir of the congress party which strongly believes in dynasty politics and not merit politics.

In his first speech after taking up the new role, he talks about the people of our country being angry with the political class and that the corruption needs to be weeded out from the system and a few things more which sounded like an echo of mother Sonia's speeches in some places. Even though the things he has talked about are nothing new than what all the parties do before elections, just like all the others he doesn’t give out any kind of a concrete plan of how. Nobody in the congress has the guts to talk about the black money that has been stashed outside the country.

Let’s talk about the crown prince before we take to sarcasm. In the Wikipedia page dedicated to him there are references to him attending Harvard and that he had to be shifted and his name had to be changed due to the fear of sikh extremists. Well I understand the concern of life. My question to the Gandhi parivar is:

Was Priyanka given the same treatment? Doesn't show on the internet. So shall I believe the (in)equality of women starts at home? Is it Ms Sonia Gandhi? While Dr Swamy who is after the Gandhi clan (Rightly so) tells various reasons for Rahul going from one school to another, I wouldn't like to take them up. I want to take this article from my understanding and point of view.

Hence, bottom-line is that his educational credentials are tainted and he is the one talking about knowledge and its importance. Its not his fault, we always cherish what we don’t have.

The congress is talking about him as the PM candidate, what do we know about him? Nothing, other than the fact that he is the son of Mr Rajiv Gandhi. All his speeches seem so delirious to say the least. He talks about a lot but his actions seem to betray him. He says he understands the needs of the youth. Do you now? Where were you when the youth was following the path of non violence (Which also got a mention in the chintan shiver speech) to prove their point and were beaten like stray dogs? Mr Fredrich Nietsche once wrote " The thought is one thing, the deed another, and the idea of the deed yet another" seems apt here.

Mr Aiyar, just like various people of congress, in their bid to butter the VP has gone all out and compared Rahul with Obama, now I dont know whether to laugh on his stupidity or to cry for the poor state of our leaders. Did Mr Aiyar know that Obama debated for winning the Presidency and that he had a series of actions to show that he is capable, can our Mr Gandhi talk about any of his accomplishments which are real and not just a fragment of his thoughts? Talk about accomplishments, can he even prove through strong documentation that he is an Indian citizen? Even after a lot of incitement from Dr Swamy the mother and son duo could not produce a single document which shows that they are legitimate Indian citizens.

Let’s talk about his competition. Mr Modi, I think the history of winning the Gujarat elections one after another, the fact that Gujarat shines brighter on the world map than India is all that we need to say about him. When this is not enough, his dedicatedness to his work and his clean image after the 2002 debacle (I take it as a debacle even though nobody has ever been able to prove his fault) makes him way ahead of Mr Gandhi even before the start.

In his recent speech Mr Gandhi himself said that he is not sure how Congress wins the elections, well I am perplexed too. Maybe its the " Baant k khao" approach that works with your allies.

Mr Shinde and Rahul share the same approach against the competition i.e BJP and RSS that they are like hindu terrorist groups. Well this shows the understanding of Congress about terrorism. They still don’t understand that terrorism does not have any religion, all they are trying to say with this statement is that they still believe terrorism stems from religion. Please correct me if I am wrong. However if you think they are helping terrorism in any way, bring them to book. You are the Home minister of this country. If you cant bring terrorists to book, you are not doing your job well. As if this isn’t enough, Mr Gandhi in his speech after the Mumbai terrorist attacks had said that " It is not possible to stop all the terrorist attacks" well here is the future aspiring PM of our country who already has bowed down to terrorism instead of blaming the right people. I would really want to ask him what about the recent face off with Pakistan, should we still keep talking to Pakistan for peace as is the consensus within the congress? Or shall we go running to US for complaining against Pakistan? Or better yet, in the words of Mr Modi, keep writing them Love letters and wait for another betrayal? When did the congress stop producing leaders with Spines?

Mr Chidambram has recently told us that India would realize its true potential next year with 5-6 % economic growth. With all due respects, is this your true potential or the potential of the country which showed economic growth of 8% when the world was under one of the worst recessions. Should a middle-class Indian be happy about such a low growth rate? Not only has the growth slowed down, there is huge fiscal deficit staring us in the face, or for that matter the skyrocketing inflation. Who shall bear the brunt of the poor governance? We, the people of India.

Sometimes I sit and think that will these politicians ever stop their petty blame games and think about the country for once? Ms Sonia Gandhi has rightly said that corrupition in politics needs to be weeded out. Well will she lead by example and bring all the black money from outside back to India? Not in a million years I am sure.

Still the country reels under various threats, not only economic but on the borders as well, and none of leaders are strong enough to give answers when they are necessary. There are no answers only open ended questions everyone wants to ask the ruling party.
